Rec center expansion
Work is under way on an expansion to the Jackson County Recreation Center. Western Builders is the contractor for the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, according to Jeff Carpenter, director of the Jackson County Recreation and Parks Department. A 1,200-square-foot addition to the weight room will double its size, Carpenter said. Also being added are an aerobics room, a spinning/yoga room and a multi-purpose room, Carpenter said. – Herald photo by Nick Breedlove
